According to the National Fire Protection Association, almost two-thirds of home fire deaths resulted from fires in properties without working smoke alarms. Barbeque Safety


There’s nothing like outdoor grilling!  70% of Americans have a grill or smoker at home, which translates to a lot of tasty meals. But it also means there’s an increased risk of injuries and/or home fires. A grill can be very hot, causing burn injuries, and if placed too close to anything that can burn is a fire hazard. More than half of home grill structure fires begin on either a courtyard terrace or patio, or an exterior balcony or open porch. Roughly half of the injuries involving grills are thermal burns. Travis County ESD #1 wants you to stay safe from injury and burns by following some easy safe barbecuing tips.
